Vehicle Trackers
Vehicle tracking systems allow you to track vehicles in real-time as one of the most basic functions. Other functions can include driver behaviour analysis, vehicle maintenance reminders and journey history, along with facilitating fuel management and dispatching.
The system sends notifications and alerts to prevent theft and can also provide reports with detailed analysis. Several other functions are also possible depending on the tracker chosen. - What is a Tracker?
A tracker is a device that has a GPS receiver installed in it and depending on the device can send its position to a mobile phone app or a 24hr monitoring call centre.
- Is a Tracker insurance approved?
Not all trackers have insurance approval so if your insurance company want a specific level of Tracker for example an S7 or S5 then you will have to pay a monthly subscription and it will need certification for that category. Trackers that you monitor yourself are not insurance approved but may still come with a monthly subscription.
- Can a Tracker be linked to an immobiliser?
Yes some companies allow the linking of an immobiliser, alarm and tracker via an app. Some allow control over the immobiliser by the owner of the vehicle if it were stolen, others only allow the police the ability to immobilise a stolen vehicle.
